Mbamuzang Calvin Elected Pioneer Interim President Of PRO-EXAS

The first-ever National Executive Election of Progressive Comprehensive High School Bamenda (PCHS) Ex-Students Association (PRO-EXAS) has taken place with an interim government elected to run the association within six months. The election that was conducted through one of the social media platforms, What App on Sunday, June 12, 2022, started at 6:06 pm with the first vote cast while the last at 11:37 pm had two candidates on the list Mbalmuzang Calvin and Ngwa Mirabel Sirri.

According to the Chairman of the electoral committee Mr Ndimbu Polycarp, a total of 78 out of  170 members cast votes, giving a participation percentage of 45.88%. Mr Mbalmuzang Calvin won the elections with 48 votes against 30 Ngwa Mirabel Sirri. Mr Ndimbu further explained that the newly voted President will lead the association for six months after which he will organize elections for a permanent bureau.

While reacting to the elections, Mr Azeh David Mofor, Principal of PCHS Bamenda commend the effort put in by his members to make sure that the elections were transparent and fair. He pledges his support to the new student government to achieve its goals and objectives.

Quizzed on what motivated him to go in for the elections, Calvin said it is a result of the love he has for the institution and has been looking for an opportunity to give back to his Ama-mata and most importantly the calls he received from other ex-students who encouraged him to go in for the position.

Calvin will be assisted in his position by Ngwa Mirabel Sirri who will serve as VP until six months when a new bureau will be voted in.
