Fondation Conseil Jeune Takes Talk Peace To Extreme Nord
The rapid spread of fake news and hate speech in Cameroon is a call for concern and this has made many institutions rise against this societal vice that is gradually eating our today's generation. This hate speech and fake news is widely circulated on social media even though, it is also done offline through diverse means. It is for this reason that Fondation Conseil Jeune founded some 20 years ago is currently training 12 young Cameroonians in Garoua drawn from the Extreme Nord (10) and North West (2). The four days session anchored on Media and Information literacy will run from July 25th to 28th, 2023.

According to Béatrice Mayang Didja, one of the participants, the knowledge gained over the past two days will be transmitted to her home community.
Béatrice Mayang Didja, participants"I will use this knowledge gained from this to raise awareness in the population of my community on the responsible use of social media. In addition, I will teach them how to detect fake news. This training was timely because I have learned a lot which I had no idea about information verification", she said while smiling.
HABIBOU Meskine on his part said, "This training is a boon for my community, it will allow me to awaken the consciences of youth by teaching them about b crisis and Boko Haram.
According to the Secretary General of Fondatiom Conseil Jeune, Jean Francois MBIA, the talk Peace project is sponsored by CFi Media and Development and has as 18 months duration. The project is in six phases divided into two times each for both regions with 30 participants that will be handed certificates of training and sent out as ambassadors of Talk Peace. The participants in each region are made up of media personalities, civil society organizations, and institutions.
